Spritzer is an indica/sativa variety from and can be cultivated indoors. Cannarado Genetics' Spritzer is a THC dominant variety and is/was never available as feminized seeds.

Cannarado Genetics' Spritzer Description

As the offspring of Runtz, Grape Pie, and MAC, Spritzer contains one of the highest THC concentrations of any strain. Her buds offer a complex mix of aromas and flavors, and plants respond well to a wide array of training techniques. History of the Spritzer Strain



Spritzer belongs to a large strain library developed by Cannarado Genetics, a Colorado-based seed bank that set out with the ambition of showcasing the breeding prowess of growers from their home state. With two decades of breeding under their belt, and building on a foundation of elite clone-only cultivars, Cannarado Genetics has built a large catalogue of genetics available in seed form. Much of their work focuses on developing strains with exceptionally high levels of THC; with a concentration peaking at 32%, Spritzer certainly shines as a strain of outrageous potency. Alongside its THC content, Spritzer gained widespread recognition after winning first place in the Indica Flower category at the Michigan Cannabis Cup.



Genetic Lineage of Spritzer



In order to create such a potent cultivar, breeders at Cannarado Genetics had to carefully consider which parent strains to select for the job. They settled on three varieties, all rich in THC and aromatic terpenes. Ultimately, Spritzer descends from Runtz and the progeny of Grape Pie and MAC. Also known by the nicknames Runtz OG and Gelato Zkittlez, Runtz has secured itself a place in the pantheon of modern legends. Created by the Cookies Fam by pairing Zkittlez with Gelato, this hybrid strain has wowed cannabis users across the world, clinching the honor of Leafly Strain of the Year in 2020. Equipped with a THC content of 21% and high levels of caryophyllene, limonene, and myrcene, this cultivar exerts a talkative and happy high alongside flavors of sweetness, fruits, and berries.



Cannarado Genetics then recruited their own Grape Pie to create Spritzer. Created by crossing Cherry Pie with Grape Stomper, Grape Pie, also known as Grapple Pie, is an indica-dominant hybrid that offers a respectable THC content of 22%. The addition of high levels of limonene, myrcene, and linalool creates a phytochemical cocktail that produces a euphoric and relaxing high alongside tastes of grape, pepper, and berries to boot. These qualities gained Grape Pie a loyal growership, and the variety went on to take third place in the Indica category at The Karma Cup in 2018.



Also known as Miracle Alien Cookies, MAC hits users with a THC content of 22%. Breeders at Capulator created this variety using parent strains Alien Cookies, Starfighter, and Colombian with the aim of producing a progeny that offers a happy, uplifting, yet relaxing high. MAC offers exactly this while targeting the taste buds with flavors of orange, sweetness, earthiness, and floral notes. Her buds are small and compact, and plants are capable of producing a rewarding yield in little space.



Physical Characteristics of Spritzer



Spritzer grows to a medium height in most setups, peaking at roughly 150cm. However, cultivators have plenty of control over how plants grow; use small pots to keep them at around 100cm, or select large containers or grow directly in the ground to enable plants to reach their full size. Although indica dominant, Spritzer’s sativa genetics shine through in her morphology. She features relatively long internodes and possesses rather small fan leaves with narrow leaflets—a distinction from the broad leaves found on more pure indica cultivars.



Her colas are narrow and tall, with each inflorescence adorned with large sugar leaves and pistillate flowers that grow in distinct clusters up towards the apex of the stem. After drying and manicuring, Spritzer’s buds are tight, dense, and encased in a thick and sticky layer of trichomes. Spritzer plants start out as dark green seedlings but will eventually take on dark purple hues during the flowering stage.



Properties and Effects of Spritzer



Spritzer exerts a wildly powerful and fast-acting high that manages to satisfy experienced cannabis users with fortified tolerances. Under certain growing conditions, the buds can produce a THC content of up to 32%, meaning it only takes a small amount of plant material to feel her full effect. However, in most circumstances, her THC concentration clocks in at around 25%—still not a quantity to scoff at.



Such sky-high levels of THC converge with trace quantities of CBG and abundant supplies of caryophyllene, limonene, and linalool to exert a long-lasting high that leaves users feeling uplifted, physically relaxed, and extremely hungry. Spritzer flowers are best suited to evening and nighttime sessions, and are perhaps not suited to wake-and-bake sessions.



Spritzer is sweet and fruity, with a flavor reminiscent of cherry and grape mixed with hints of citrus, earth, and pepper. These notes culminate in a fresh and vibrant smoke that makes for a well-rounded session.



Uses of Spritzer



Among recreational users, Spritzer is appreciated during moments of rest, relaxation, and light socializing. Whether you want to settle in with a good movie or have a chat with one of your good friends, Spritzer will elevate any session to new heights.



No scientific studies have analysed the therapeutic potential of Spritzer. However, anecdotal reports suggest that the strain may help with the following symptoms in some individuals:

Given its extreme THC content, novice users should approach Spritzer with caution. Potential side effects of the strain include paranoia, anxiety, and dizziness, as well as red eyes and dry mouth.



Cultivation and Production of Spritzer



Spritzer provides a rewarding yield, given her basic needs are met throughout the growing cycle. Indoor plants require at least 20 hours of light per day during veg to reach their full potential, and plants grown outdoors do best in full sun. Plants respond very well to LST and ScrOG techniques; both of these strategies will increase yields while preventing plants from becoming too large to manage in small spaces. Prepare to harvest plants after a relatively brief flowering period of 8–9 weeks indoors, with an early October harvest outdoors.
