Runtz is arguably just as famous a cannabis strain as Cookies, and they both share similar close ties to hip-hop and street culture. White Runtz is a unique Runtz phenotype with slightly different aromas and more physical effects, and this has made it a popular variety among recreational and medical smokers alike. Strain History of White Runtz

White Runtz is a unique phenotype of the original Runtz, a strain with close ties to street culture and hip hop that today shares a similar grade of fame as the Cookies lineage. Bred by a breeder only known as Nick, Runtz was the result of a unique pheno hunt that took place in 2017.

Nick eventually partnered with Yung LB, a rapper from Long Beach, and his manager Raybama. Having close ties to Berner and his famous Cookies brand, Nick, Yung LB, and Raybama used a similar type of marketing and branding to propel Runtz and their company—formerly Runtz Crew and now Jokes Up—to fame. Through their ties with Berner and Cookies, as well as unique collaborations with rappers, they were able to secure a foothold in the Californian cannabis industry.

White Runtz was created as a follow-up to the original Runtz and was allegedly created and promoted by rapper and Jokes Up member, Dolla$ Up Nero.

Genetic Lineage of White Runtz

White Runtz is a unique phenotype of the original Runtz, which was created by crossing Gelato and Zkittlez, two incredibly popular Californian hybrids. We'll look at both Runtz' parents and how they influenced the strain in more detail below.

White Runtz' first parent is Gelato, also known as Larry Bird or Gelato #42. A cross of Sunset Sherbet and Thin Mint Cookies, Gelato is a well-balanced hybrid that produces an uplifting, cerebral euphoria along with a deep sense of physical relaxation. Its aroma is sweet, creamy, and fruity with hints of vanilla and mint, and its buds sometimes take on beautiful purple hues—all traits that can also be observed to different degrees in Runtz and all its variations.

Meanwhile, White Runtz' second parent is Zkittlez. Also known as The Original Z, Zkittlez is an indica-dominant hybrid descending from Grape Ape and Grapefruit lines (as well as as a third undisclosed strain). Since its creation in the 2010s, Zkittlez has won over recreational and medical smokers alike with its potency, fruity candy aroma, and relaxed, sleepy stone. Zkittlez' sedative effects and candy aromas can also be found to different degrees in Runtz strains, including White Runtz.

Physical Characteristics of White Runtz

Like all Runtz varieties, the original White Runtz isn't available in seed or clone form. Hence, there's little information available about this strain and its physical traits, seeing as there are few growers cultivating it. What we do know, however, is that White Runtz plants produce tight, spade-shaped flowers that are deep green in colour, though they can also develop purple and pink hues depending on how they're grown. Their thick, sticky coating of trichomes also gives White Runtz buds a glistening white appearance.

Properties/Effects of White Runtz

White Runtz is a very potent strain, believed to pack up to 24% THC. Its most dominant terpenes are caryophyllene, limonene, and linalool, which combine to give the strain its unique aroma reminiscent of fresh tropical fruit mixed with creamy vanilla undertones. Smokers with a trained nose and palate may also pick up on the strain's more subtle floral aromas and hints of fruit.

Thanks to its high concentration of resin and cannabinoids, White Runtz delivers a heavy-handed stone within minutes of lighting her up. Users report feeling a warm, tingling sensation usually starting somewhere in their upper body before slowly working its way out into the extremities. This deep sense of physical relaxation can last several hours and usually comes accompanied by a calm, clear-headed, and uplifted mental state.

In general, the White Runtz strains available in seed form are indica-dominant and grow into strong, bushy plants. Some fast-flowering/automatic versions of White Runtz are available, which also contain ruderalis genetics. In general, seedbanks and growers describe White Runtz varieties as easy to grow, though they often benefit from training and defoliation due to their stocky stature and bushy foliage. White Runtz strains typically flower in 8–10 weeks and are said to produce moderate yields, though this largely depends on how they are grown.

Bred and commercialized by the Runtz Crew/Jokes Up, White Runtz is a unique Runtz variety with a heavy-handed physical stone and calm cerebral effects.
