Flavour Chasers' Sherblato Description

Flavour Chasers Sherblato

As the progeny of Sherbert and Gelato, Sherblato possesses a suite of genetics that code for moderate levels of THC and sky-high levels of sugary terpenes. Discover everything you need to know about this indica-dominant hybrid below, including her effects and physical characteristics.

Strain History of Sherblato

Sherblato belongs to a catalogue of genetics created by a team of breeders known as Flavour Chasers. The story of this seed bank begins in London, where the members of this company noticed a scarcity of flavour in cannabis available in the region. Hungry for superior terpene profiles, and noticing the increasing demand in the community around them, they embarked to California—a cannabis hub reaping the flavourful rewards of recent legislation. After reaching the West Coast and establishing a breeding facility, the crew developed an array of strains that captured the best terpene profiles they could find. They went on to make strains such as Sherblato available to their countrymen back home, as well as to growers in the United States and the world over.

Genetic Lineage of Sherblato

In alignment with their original goal, Flavour Chasers sought out some of the most terpene-dense parent strains, to bring Sherblato to life. Get to know these cultivars below:

• Sherbert: Also known as “Sherbert OG”, this indica-dominant hybrid descends from parent strains Girl Scout Cookies and Pink Panties. Originally bred by Mr Sherbinski, this strain inherited incredibly sweet flavours from its parents and treats users to potent notes of candy, berries, citrus, and sugar. Her moderate THC content of 18% synergises with her saccharine aromatic molecules to exert a heavy body high that comes packaged alongside a cerebral experience that drives creativity and sociability.

• Gelato: After selecting the first parent strain, breeders at Flavour Chasers wanted to further enhance the tastes of the progeny by choosing one of the most terpene-packed cultivars they could acquire. As the progeny of Sherbert and Thin Mint Girl Scout Cookies, Gelato weighs in with a THC content of 21% and offers a high defined by both deep physical relaxation and euphoria. Equipped with high levels of caryophyllene, limonene, and humulene, Gelato serves up tastes of sweetness, vanilla, and mint.

Physical Characteristics of Sherblato

In accordance with the dominant aspect of her genetic profile, Sherblato exhibits a typical indica morphology. Plants produce large and luscious fan leaves with broad leaflets that are attached to stout branches via thick red petioles. Her short internodes and lateral growing pattern mean plants typically top out at around 120cm. However, the application of training techniques and the selection of small pot sizes can keep plants as short as 60cm. Sherblato produces small but dense colas with an exterior coated with a dense layer of resin-producing trichomes.

Properties/Effects of Sherblato

Sherblato features a THC content of around 22%, which lands bang in the middle ground between more subtle cultivars and those that produce a much more powerful effect that often renders users couch-bound. Overall, Sherblato produces more of a physical high; she relaxes the muscles, reddens the eyes, and stokes the appetite. However, these buds are not without cognitive effects; bouts of euphoria and creativity balance out her effects.

Aside from underpinning her attractive tastes, Sherblato’s aromatic terpenes also dictate the high. Caryophyllene synergises with THC to induce physical relaxation, whereas limonene elevates mood slightly and adds an element of wakefulness. Overall, this strain makes a good option during lazy afternoons and evenings. However, consumers who are used to more stoning highs could use her throughout the day without feeling overpowered by her effects.

Uses of Sherblato

No studies have assessed the therapeutic effects of Sherblato. However, anecdotal reports show that some medical marijuana users harness the strain in attempts to address the following symptoms:

• Anxiety

• Stress

• Pain

Cultivation/Production of Sherblato

Sherblato tolerates a wide range of growing conditions, and her size makes her suitable for cultivation anywhere from tight indoor spaces, small greenhouses, or directly in the ground out in the garden. With ample space, growers can choose to leave plants untrained and allow them to form a large central cola flanked by larger buds. However, high levels of humidity can predispose this centrepiece to mould. To prompt the formation of small and more uniform buds, top her in the early vegetative phase and apply LST or ScrOG techniques.

Sherblato benefits from defoliation throughout the growing cycle. Removing older leaves will promote airflow in the canopy, reduce instances of fungal infections, and allow good light penetration. Provide this strain with ample light and nutrients, and you can expect to harvest up to 550g/m² after a flowering time of around 50–60 days.

Sherblato: Complex Yet Balanced

As the progeny of Sherbert and Gelato, Sherblato possesses a complex and exceptionally sweet terpene profile that appeals to cannabis users with a preference for sugary and fruity buds. Flavour aside, her moderate THC content generates a stoning high that occupies the middle ground between subtly and excessive potency. Her bushy morphology and low-lying canopy make her a good candidate for covert cultivation.
