Orange Blossom Special (OBS for short) is a sativa-dominant hybrid created by Greenpoint Seeds in March 2023. Greenpoint Seeds is an American seed bank based in Colorado and founded in 2014 by a grower known only as Gu, whose experience with cannabis dates back to the early 2000s. Gu started his journey in the cannabis game in 2006 as a grower with a particular focus on living soil, as well as extensive pheno hunting.

By 2009, Gu had developed a strong presence online, particularly on cannabis forums, and amassed a huge collection of seeds (thanks to a large investment in seed stock from other experienced breeders and banks). Gu also gained a reputation among growers for his detailed grow reports, as well as his keen eye for distinguishing different plants based on often subtle characteristics.

In 2013, Gu relocated from his native state of Florida to Colorado, which, a year earlier, had voted to legalize cannabis by 2014. Following state legalization in Colorado, Gu officially founded the Greenpoint Seeds brand, making his seeds and stockpile of information available to growers of all levels. According to Greenpoint Seeds, Orange Blossom Special is a direct descendant of Clementine and Stardawg, two strains known for their zesty aromas and high potency. Here we'll look at both of these strains in more detail.

Clementine is a famous strain created by Crockett Family Farms, a family-run cannabis farm and genetics company based in California, responsible for creating an impressive catalog of well-known hybrids, including Tangie, Strawberry Banana, and Chocolope. Clementine is a sativa-dominant cultivar bred from Lemon Skunk and Tangie. As its name implies, the strain is loved for its fresh, zesty aroma reminiscent of citrus, as well as its energizing high.
