MassMedicalStrains' Indigo Child Bx2 Description

MassMedicalStrains Indigo Child Bx2 When I first smoked the Indigo Child, I had one of the most unique and powerful experiences that made a major positive impact in my life for the coming months. It was quite possibly the single most intense cannabis experience I have ever had, in a very unique and enjoyable way. I immediately knew I had something extremely special and dedicated a good majority of my breeding energy and efforts for the last couple years into this project, to lock down those effects consistently in seed form! I am proud to say that this second backcross really nails it and can give the identical experience!

The Indigo Child high is like no other and can be compared to a psychedelic. It is more clearheaded than is typical with most cannabis, and comes on very very slow and gradual. In one sense it feels super strong and in another sense you’re not traditionally “stoned” or “baked” in quite the same feeling way as usual, especially because of how clear headed it can be, however a strong body buzz and a very noticeable shift in mental perspective can arise. This plant seems to have a few special qualities which are recurring in its effects. The seemingly random recall of memories in extensive detail, feeling through the body the same sensations as in the past, while the mind feels so pure and healed that all anxieties have been stripped away and dissolved. This allows a type of healing mindset mixed with the clarity and reflection, which seems to facilitate something “more” and is extremely blissful and therapeutic. This can last for many hours and easily keep you awake all night, many hours after just a couple hits. My best highs from this plant have seemed to really start to peak over 2-3 hours after smoking it. There’s something just very different about it.

My repeated use of this plant has shown me something more. It is so much a “truth weed” that if you overuse it, it can be very harsh and uncomfortable, inducing overwhelming heaviness and anxiety if smoked too frequently. It seems to give you what you Need, in any moment, but NOT what you Want, from an energetic or karma type perspective. If you want or desire something specific it may tell you that you were wrong to ask of that at this moment and give you the opposite. If you go with the flow it will pleasantly surprise you. This plant has more spirit than almost any cannabis I’ve ever had. It’s truly my favorite smoke of all time, but be warned it is best enjoyed here and there, not frequently over and over again every day. Treat it with the respect that you’d give a traditional entheogenic experience.

The Indigo Child is a phenotype discovered by Aloha Island, of my Star Pupil S1 seeds. He contacted me saying all the SP were great, but that he had one which had such a good high to it that it was all anybody was asking for and nothing else. I wasn’t quite sure what to expect, so I got the clone and some buds from him. The night that I smoked it changed my entire summer in a positive way. I felt like a child again for so many hours through the night, and even the next few days had a pleasant afterglow. I was almost questioning if it was laced, but it was not. It was simply psychedelic cannabis, an amazing phenotype, especially having been grown under the amazing Hawaiian sun by such an incredible human being.

When I first grew the clone and smoked it, I didn’t quite get “that” feeling that I did when I smoked his. A week or two later after a bit of a cure I tried it again and got some glimpses of the unique feeling for moments of the high and I was so relieved to see that it is indeed there, it is repeatable and not just a fluke. With a nice cure, and especially when grown right, this plant has such a special high which I believe has extreme therapeutic value. The Star Pupil mom does as well, but this phenotype is just like a super amplified version with a totally special character to it. You can feel they’re related.

With the bx2 version you will find the plants are easier to grow than the original clone, and are a near exact representation! I put in a lot of work selecting the right plants each generation in order to achieve the goal here. You’ll be in heaven as soon as you rub their gooey stems in veg and smell that amazing pupil funk when defoliating or cloning!

With many smoke tests and also a few lab tests, I’ve determined that the best time to harvest the Indigo Child is at 7 weeks of flowering indoors under 11/13 light cycle. If you take it too long it really starts to lose its magic, so a tad on the early side is beneficial for maximum effect. The best smoke indoors comes from flowering under a 1000w or 600w Metal Halide (even better than CMH!) lamp, this brings out her proper vibes and terps as close as possible to the sun grown expression, flavor and high. Do not grow it under HPS, there’s no point. HPS causes a drastic shift in expression with more generic Myrcene and less of the “good stuff” and though you’ll still have a quality bud, it won’t compare to MH or LED grown with this strain, and it doesn’t quite hit that same peak in the effect. Star Pupil itself acts the same way. Most SP takes 8.5-9 weeks to flower and is a darker purple. The Indigo Child is still very purple throughout, however it is a lighter shade than typical and is known as the “pink phenotype” of SP. This pink pheno also comes out in the Star Pupil hybrids, most well known is the pink phenotype of PuTang which also has very therapeutic and healing psychoactivity to it.

If you have the chance to grow her outside, especially in a controlled greenhouse or a real tropical warm climate, you will get amazing herb as well! In more northern climates the cold does have a bit of an influence and changes it somewhat. My outdoor grown Indigo Child smoke feels a lot more “indica.”

I smoked two hits of a bowl about 3 hours before writing this all, and have the most amazing feeling in my body, especially in my arms. It’s the feeling of childhood summertime and pure euphoria. Every single thing I look at is exciting as when you are a child. It is such a special feeling that I don’t mind it being 5am. If you want to sleep do not smoke this. I think skipping a night of sleep to have an experience like this is well worth it for the soul. It often gives the feeling like you are seeing things for the first time. It also sometimes feels like you can “feel again” like everything is brought back to full feeling. The experience of life is simply Perfect. It is so comfortable that it is very very euphoric! I am so happy to be able to share this plant with the world!

Indigo Child has a purple flower which does not need cold temperatures. The purple starts naturally because of genetics around week 2 of flowering! These plants do best when flowered at 78-85 degrees F, they love warmth but can be grown in any grow room with good results too! The most important growing tip is to allow the soil to become extremely dry between each watering. Throw away anything you ever heard about keeping soil constantly moist for microbial life, you will ruin this plant if you water it when the roots are wet. If you see clawing leaves you need to let it dry out more. Clawing signifies an excess of N uptake (caused by constantly wet roots) which will ruin potency and yield tremendously. These plants are very, very easy to grow, if you simply leave them alone a bit and allow them to get very dry before you water them, and water thoroughly each time you do. They prefer about 700-750 PPFD of full spectrum lighting in flower. If you see the tops of the flowers getting green instead of purple, give it a little bit less light intensity. These are not as hungry for light as some other strains, and will form very dense buds.

As these are regular seeds, you will find females and males. I suggest cloning every plant, because once you smoke “the one” you will know it, and you will be really really happy you kept a clone. When I first smoked Indigo Child I actually debated throwing away almost all of the plants I was growing, because it was really “that much better.” Of course I am glad I didn’t, because every plant has its own vibe and the Indigo Child experience is not an “every day casual smoke” for me at all. However, this plant is extraordinarily special and its effects can be psychedelic in a beautiful way. Closed eye visuals with music can get extremely cartoony-flashy and sometimes geometric and nearly unbelievable.

I highly suggest keeping every plant until you smoke it. Don’t just make your selection based off yield or aroma, wait for the high, it smokes really good fresh and even better after a couple weeks of proper curing. No humidity packs, do it right. The high is just unbeatable.

Check out the male plants in this population, too. A frosty purple male testing at a whopping 29% thc was used and you’ll likely find plenty of males like it, as the previous generation (bx1) already had these unbelievable resinous ones at 25% occurrence. I always encourage breeding with my strains and this one is an amazing place to start if you are looking to add immense euphoria, potency, and purple color into your lines. I am honored if you breed with them, wether its your first time making a cross or you are a seasoned breeder, you will have an absolute blast with these!

Indigo Child Bx2 comes with 13 seeds and is a freebie only given out with our 4/20 special release. Due to the finicky nature of the original Indigo Child clone, the germination rate on this batch is a bit low, averaging 70% instead of the expected near 100% as is typical. So they are a free bonus because of the lower germ rate. There will be no replacements for seeds that don’t germinate on these packs, but there are enough seeds that you should find your keepers. Sprout a few more than you need just in case, but you may get lucky and have 100%, who knows! The universe will give you what you need :)
