Really, the plant has a potential. I had a female plant that behaved in bud formation more like a male, making many small balls before pollination could have occurred by her brother, meaning it was hermaphrodite. There was one female that was a monster. Unfortunately, it was a hermaphrodite also. Then I figured the worst was over. Wrong. Another female so far has popped bananas and is hermaphrodite also! She had the sweetest sour grape smell, now her seeds are relatively useless. Actually, I bought these seeds for a little experiment project of mine to combine with an indian sativa, Parvati. Well this Baglung Nepalese strain ended up being a reminder of what hermaphroditic plants behave like. I had 5-6 plants female, but 3 of 4 plants show hermaphrodism so far. These plants will seriously require a hermaphrodism sifting to make them useful for breeding, which is my interest.

Anybody who is willing to deal with hermaphrodite plants as a common occurrence should choose these plants. Unfortunately, though the plants will probably make good charas, they are not much use for breeding, and your bud will be seeded from the staminate females in the room. You will absolutely require a photo-period stress based sift, and maybe even a rhodelization sift as well, before using these seeds in any growing program. I will be keeping the seeds my girls made with their one brother, but don't seriously think I will be using them for much of anything except preserving the sacred life of this plant.

I would like to add that I have never grown nepalese before, and do not think being 'hermie' is representative of nepalese sativas in general. Instead, I think that improperly sourced starter material may be to blame. I do not blame 'hyper seeds' for this issue, again I think it is rather this exact variety coming perhaps originally from a self-pollinated bud bought from an "herb-man" in nepal.

I think the major potential in these plants lies in their purple/black color expression of most stems, leaves, and buds. Also, there is potential in the hash making capacity of these plants. The plants produce average to slightly above average bud thickness. They have been tolerating the somewhat cold conditions of my climate quite well in the garage, not succumbing to dips in humidity at night. They matured faster than everything else in my room, even a pure indica I created from 'real seeds' Chitrali and Mazar-I-Sharif.

I apologize for the fact that I am only now becoming somewhat skilled in growing, but I needed to warn others that these seeds are likely hermaphrodite genetics, and to steer clear unless you are willing to work hard to recover these genes. I would say that since nepalese are usually rare treats, these seeds are worth collecting for genetic preservation purposes, but this exact strain is probably NOT what you should use in your program. this comment
