Sweet Seeds' Wild Rose Description

Sweet Seeds Wild Rose

Wild Rose is an under-the-radar hybrid cannabis strain. Sold by Sweet Seeds and available in seed form, it is a highly regarded strain among both indoor and outdoor growers, rewarding them with good harvests of strong, aromatic flowers in a fairly short time. Keep reading to learn more about Wild Rose, its genetics, origins, effects, and more.

Strain History of Wild Rose

Based in Valencia, Spain, Sweet Seeds is known for producing some top varieties of European cannabis. Sweet Seeds comprises a team of cannabis growers and professionals with experience growing and breeding weed dating back to the 1990s. Today, the bank offers a wide variety of strains, including autoflowers, photoperiod strains (regular and feminized), as well as CBD varieties.

While it's unclear when Sweet Seeds bred Wild Rose, the strain has been around at least since 2008, when it won its first prize at a cannabis cup in Malaga, Spain. Since then, Wild Rose has won numerous other awards and accolades, including 1st Prize in the Best Indoor category at the Cannarias Cannabis Cup in 2009 and 2010.

Genetic Lineage of Wild Rose

Wild Rose is the result of crossing HOG and Rosetta Stone.

HOG, also known as The Hog, Tennessee Hog, or Haracept, is a Dutch strain originally bred by TH Seeds in Amsterdam. In 2002, HOG won the title of Best Indica at the High Times Cannabis Cup, and the strain is still touted as one of "the most potent strains in the world". Its aroma is described as pungent and hash-like, with notes of dark tobacco, blue cheese, tart limes, and an unmistakable peppery kick. Its effects are euphoric and mentally uplifting as well as deeply relaxing. The genetic origins of HOG aren't certain.

Rosetta Stone, on the other hand, is a cross of White Widow and Ginger Ale bred by Brothers Grimm, a US seed bank founded by the breeders Rick Campanella (known as MrSoul) and his partner Sly. Containing high concentrations of THC as well as notable levels of secondary cannabinoids like CBG, Rosetta Stone is known for producing a balanced, talkative, focused, and happy high. Its aroma is spicy, floral, and minty.

Physical Characteristics of Wild Rose

Wild Rose is 65% sativa dominant, develops solid branches, and grows to moderate heights depending on how much space she's given. Wild Rose plants produce broad leaves with a typical five-fingered hybrid shape that are lime green at first before becoming darker as the plant matures. Wild Rose's nodes are tightly spaced, and the plants are known to stretch considerably once in bloom.

As they mature, Wild Rose plants produce long flowers with a somewhat wispy structure, big calyxes, and a fair amount of leaves. Wild Rose buds are typically bright green in color, dotted with vibrant orange and cream-colored pistils and dusted with a sugary coating of trichomes.

Properties and Effects of Wild Rose

According to Sweet Seeds, Wild Rose produces around 20% THC and roughly 1% secondary cannabinoids (such as CBD and CBG). It also boasts a complex mix of terpenes that combine to give the strain a fresh citrus aroma with a slight gummy/candy-like sweetness. Smokers with a trained nose may also pick up on cool, fresh herbal notes.

Given its high concentration of cannabinoids and terpenes, Wild Rose is very potent. Its effects, however, are well-balanced, producing a cerebral high that users say leaves them feeling talkative, creative, uplifted, and happy. At the same time, Wild Rose also produces some slight physical effects that some users find relaxing, though not heavy and sedative. Thanks to this balance of cerebral and physical effects, Wild Rose by Sweet Seeds can be a good wake-and-bake or daytime strain.

Uses of WIld Rose

Wild Rose is predominantly used by recreational cannabis smokers looking for a potent yet well-balanced high. Its effects are both mentally stimulating and physically relaxing, which users report makes for a pleasant smoking experience. According to reviews of the strain, rec users recommend Wild Rose for:

• Social settings

• Focusing on creative tasks

• Doing housework/chores

• Hiking or other outdoor activities

• Daytime use

There is no research to show that Wild Rose has medical benefits. However, like other cannabis strains with similar effects, Wild Rose might appeal to medical marijuana patients looking to relieve stress, anxiety, and mood disorders.

There are very few user reports of Wild Rose, meaning there is little information available about its potential side effects. Going off of other high-THC strains with similar effects, however, we can assume that Wild Rose may cause anxiety and paranoia, and dry mouth and eyes.

Cultivation and Production of Wild Rose

Wild Rose is available in seed form directly from Sweet Seeds. The bank describes the strain as ideal for indoor cultivation thanks to its short flowering time, but it can also perform well outdoors, as well as in both soil and soilless setups. Wild Rose is easy to grow, making it an attractive choice for rookie growers as well as veterans.

Wild Rose vegges fairly vigorously and can grow to moderate heights. Low-stress training can help open up the strain's canopy and encourage better light penetration to its lower buds, which can sometimes be overshadowed by the plant's broad leaves. Topping can also encourage the growth of multiple colas and increase the strain's yields. Being slightly sativa dominant, Wild Rose might benefit from lighter fertilization than other strains. According to Sweet Seeds, Wild Rose takes roughly 9 weeks to flower indoors and can produce up to 550g/m² indoors and up to 550g per plant outdoors.

Wild Rose — A Sweet Seed Fit for Any Garden

Wild Rose by Sweet Seeds is a sativa-dominant hybrid strain with genetics from HOG and Rosetta Stone. Her easy grow traits make her a great choice for home growers of all skill levels, while her strong cannabinoid and terpene concentrations make for a delicious, potent smoke.

Responds well for Low-Stress-Training and Scrogging. Airy Bud structure, nice Sativa Head High with some Indica Influences. Harvesting between 65-68. Definatly gone grow it again
