For me, Frisian Dew is the best outdoor strain for northern latitudes. (I´m on 53)

She can't be beat for yield, bud size and robustness and I've grown quite a few outdoor strains and seen them from colleagues. An FD can yield twice as much as other good outdoor strains. Plants with 600 gr. Dry yields are possible.

Here in the north, FD are ready to harvest in early to mid-October, depending on the weather.

The FD is a very versatile plant with many phenotypes. From compact indica flowers to big fluffy sativa flowers, everything is included. From green to dark purple everything is possible.

The high is really good and strong for outdoor weed. Typical skunk high. Of course there are differences between the individual plants, but none of them have disappointed me. They all make you high, but some just do it better :-)

Most FD's are mild in flavor, woody (pine), spicy, slightly skunky and not very intense. But there are exceptions. Those who like intense sweet aromas may be disappointed.

For me the green or only slightly purpled phenos the best in terms of effect and taste.

I highly recommend this strain to any outdoor grower in northern latitudes.

This strain is a masterpiece in is own right. Grown organically, in a tall greenhouse, this green phenotype rose up to 2 metres high and wide, topped and LST-ed. Multiple branches, long flower filled colas, lime green pistils, a superb smell that still intrigues me, a combo of sweet and flowery, with an aniseed/incense twang and an overall prevailing fresh sensation. Properly cured, the smoke is smooth, with a freshsweet aftertaste. Balanced high and when consumed in moderation it makes a great all day companion. A fatter joint will sink you into a nice afternoon nap or relax your body through the night. Heavy yiealder for my experience, a stunning 700 grams dry, harvested a week early. The buds are dense, so despite it's resistance to fungus, daily checkups are advised for the last couple of weeks, especially if damp conditions. All of this, achieved in harsh conditions: summer with cold nights (+14 degrees C in average) and very hot days (+52 C, measured inside the greenhouse), a couple of insect waves early in the spring (she doesn't care about leaf miners but pay attention to aphids around May), rainy autumn and no store bought fertilizer. Used home made stinging nettle ferment and chicken poop, in orderly fashion. So the potential...is huge. The large amount of leafs might be a downer for some, but I counted my blessings and trimmed a whole week, 6 hours a day without flinching, all the while sampling some prior harvested popcorn buds.Resin production is medium as such but the quality of the resulting bubble hash is worth all the effort. Needless to say...I'm in love. Chapeau, Dutch Passion!

Beautiful plant to grow. It performed extremely good in very shity weather. Summer was very cold and in autumn nights temperature falls to 0 degrees but the plant didnt minded it at all. Gave me nice big solid buds with beautiful purple colors. I growed it for 2 years now and absolutely growing next year. Great job Dutch Passion.

2 seeds popped mid-April. Among the first to germinate and start growing. Three weeks after germination, one of the seedlings had 5 nodes and was the most robust among two dozens of other seedlings. The other seedling had only 3 nodes and average strenght.

One seedling was planted into a 35 liter container in early June and grown in a garden. The other was planed in a pre-prepared hole in a guerilla garden in the countryside (added composted manure, worm castings and dolomitic lime to the soil).

The plant in the garden had some minor insect issues in June and recovered without any issues. The guerilla grow had some 170 cm in late June, a markedly sativa built and some 16 nodes, with tiny buds beginning to form already.

By the end of August, the guerilla grow was damaged by deer (some 25 cm of outer bark and lower branches chewed off). Buds continue to grow and some pistils already turn brown. As opposed to the garden plant, there was very little leaf chlorosis in the guerilla plant.

Both plants finished within one week mid-September, producing firm, plump buds with little leaves. The smell is delicate, fruity, rather inobtrusive. Trimming was a piece of cake.

Prima Strain.
