Basic / Breeders Info
AK-48 is an indica/sativa variety from Nirvana and can be cultivated indoors (where the plants will need a flowering time of ±70 days) (as like as outdoors in the right climate zones). Nirvanas AK-48 is a THC dominant variety and is/was also available as feminized seeds.
Nirvanas AK-48 Description
AK strains have been gaining popularity steadily since the mid-1990s. Our AK-48 is one of the strongest early-finishing strains available anywhere. Plants produce hard buds with an exceptional and penetrating aroma. Although AK-48 is an Indica/Sativa hybrid, its effect tends toward the 'high' commonly produced by Sativas. Although most growers will opt for a longer vegetative period to improve taste, under perfect conditions, AK-48 may finish in as few as 48 days.

had 2 plants under 600w, about 80g p.P., nice lookin buds, but nearly no smell, even during the flowering process, and a very light high wich turned into a strong tired if youre smoked to much, had to sleep then. non daily users descriped it as nice and enjoyable compared to other strains

Started the seeds outdoors mid September with intent of bringing them indoors to finish. Brought indoors mid October when the temps started dipping into the mid 40's. Started flowering when they reached 8 inches.
Tossed five males. The remaining females showed two differences in the side branches. Either they had side branches or very short side branches with sugar leaves that had very long stems. One plant had nice tight buds the rest were slightly looser but stronger. Stretch was reasonable.

I enjoyed growing this strain, but did not expect the long flowering time. I had to cover the plants 6 or 7 times because of some cold nights. The temp went down to 30 degrees F. one night and I wasn't able to cover the plants, but they seemed unaffected by it the next day. These plants were very tall, ranging from 12 to 14.5 feet tall. From my 3 plants, I harvested around 2 lbs. I germinated the seeds in the end of April, and then moved them outdoors into the ground around May 20, I stared harvesting them around November 15.

The girls that I grew actually had a super-strong smell during weeks 5 - finish. I have harvested good quality bud as early as 49 days but had best results 56-63 days. The main colas are very thick and can be pretty long, pay careful attention that bud mold doesn't form, I've lost a lot due to it. The smoke is super strong, too much for me personally, I always ended up mega-paranoid!

The plants are rather uniform, very good yielders, not strong smell, also when cured the smell is low, you need 65 days minimum of 12 hours flowering, 75 days is better.

This was very bad stain. Never again this. Smell gasoline and weed was extremely bad. No thank´s.

Someone gave me a fem seed and I grew it out. The flowering time was far longer than 48 days but it was rewarded with a good amount of buds which gave a sativa-like effect. The taste has been on the enjoyable side as well. The stretch after the flip has been low, just like an indica.
